↻Feedback changes the situation — the next round starts from there.
Walk through one round
A simplified design example. Situations and numbers illustrate the mechanic, not exact rules from a reference game.
- T1
Turn 1 · The situation
On her birthday she logs in to his voice message and a letter.
- T2
Turn 2 · The player chooses
She saves the voice and posts a screenshot to the community.
- T3
Turn 3 · The feedback
Someone replies: he said something different this year.
- T4
Turn 4 · The next decision
She looks ahead to his birthday event next month.
How it plays
On the player's chosen birthday the game sends voice or gifts, while the character's birthday opens timed events, stories, cards and mini-games. Communities also celebrate on their own. It turns the calendar into an annual ritual, often a peak for revenue and buzz.
What the player weighs
- Make birthday content free to show sincerity, or tie it to limited banners for revenue.
- Create new content yearly, or reuse a template to control cost.
02Start small
Scope is an editorial estimate for the minimum prototype, not the reference game or a production schedule.
03One mechanic, different implementations

Tears of Themis
Set your birthday and a surprise opens on the day: choose one lead to spend it with and receive his gift.

Light and Night
His birthday events change format each year and often include handwritten letters, keepsake notes and a birthday call.
The difference worth noticing
Tears of Themis highlights the player's own birthday; Light and Night designs new events for each lead every year.
Case notes are Yoroll editorial summaries; rules may change between versions.
04What could you combine?
Record a greeting with swappable lines, assembled by her past route into a filmed birthday message that feels personal.
