No.294Light and Night01The core loop
Action → feedback → next choice- 01Make a key choice
- 02See the branch result
- 03Decide whether to spend a rewind
- 04Reach another ending
↻Feedback changes the situation — the next round starts from there.
Walk through one round
A simplified design example. Situations and numbers illustrate the mechanic, not exact rules from a reference game.
- T1
Turn 1 · The situation
In chapter seven she chose to leave him and has one rewind left.
- T2
Turn 2 · The player chooses
She watches the ending and spends her last rewind.
- T3
Turn 3 · The feedback
A new route opens, but a later choice in chapter nine can no longer be changed.
- T4
Turn 4 · The next decision
She starts reading clues around every choice carefully.
How it plays
Key choices decide route and ending, and scarce rewinds reset them. Once spent, no more changes are possible. Choices keep their weight without locking players forever in a route they dislike.
What the player weighs
- Limit rewinds to preserve weight, or allow resets for full collection.
- Keep memory after rewinds for new scenes, or restart clean for simpler writing.
02Start small
Scope is an editorial estimate for the minimum prototype, not the reference game or a production schedule.
03One mechanic, different implementations

Light and Night
In the main story an item lets you re-pick key choices; once spent it can be bought again from shops or bundles.

Beyond the World
Choices in an instance lead to different endings; after any ending you can quick-replay, and some instances can be restarted.
The difference worth noticing
Light and Night prices each rewind with a consumable; Beyond the World encourages repeat runs with a quick-replay option.
Case notes are Yoroll editorial summaries; rules may change between versions.
04What could you combine?
Each player gets three rewinds, and he faintly remembers the erased attempt, so regret becomes new story.

Romance Inside the Crisis
The case or instance is the stage, and only a crisis shows whether he can be trusted.
