No.293Tears of Themis01The core loop
Action → feedback → next choice- 01Enter a case or instance
- 02Investigate and decide
- 03Face consequences together
- 04Grow closer to him and the truth
↻Feedback changes the situation — the next round starts from there.
Walk through one round
A simplified design example. Situations and numbers illustrate the mechanic, not exact rules from a reference game.
- T1
Turn 1 · The situation
In an instance his voice calls from outside the door, but a teammate says he died ten minutes ago.
- T2
Turn 2 · The player chooses
She keeps the door shut and checks the camera.
- T3
Turn 3 · The feedback
The feed shows no trace of him, and the voice suddenly stops.
- T4
Turn 4 · The next decision
She doubts the rules and wants even more to find the real him.
How it plays
Romance moves from dates into investigation, interrogation, debate or infinite-flow instances. Players gather evidence, question and make life-or-death calls while he may be ally or suspect. Mission tension gives ordinary care more weight, and interactions more play.
What the player weighs
- Raise suspense for mystery fans, or favor romantic pacing so feelings are not interrupted.
- Make each choice truly branch, or converge endings to control cost.
02Start small
Scope is an editorial estimate for the minimum prototype, not the reference game or a production schedule.
03One mechanic, different implementations

Tears of Themis
You play a rookie lawyer who gathers evidence, questions witnesses and reasons with the leads before arguing in court, with romance running alongside each case.

Beyond the World
In an infinite-worlds setup you cross instances under different identities; choices lead to different endings, and he finds you again in each new role.
The difference worth noticing
Tears of Themis relies on case logic; Beyond the World uses many settings, though some players feel the romance sits awkwardly against the crisis.
Case notes are Yoroll editorial summaries; rules may change between versions.
04What could you combine?
Hide clues in his posts and calls, so romantic content becomes a detective's tool and feeling and deduction are no longer separate.
