No.287Light and Night01The core loop
Action → feedback → next choice- 01Choose a real-life task
- 02Start the timer
- 03He responds as you progress
- 04Log the result
↻Feedback changes the situation — the next round starts from there.
Walk through one round
A simplified design example. Situations and numbers illustrate the mechanic, not exact rules from a reference game.
- T1
Turn 1 · The situation
During finals, the player starts a 25-minute focus while he reads beside her.
- T2
Turn 2 · The player chooses
At minute ten she leaves to answer a message.
- T3
Turn 3 · The feedback
When she returns he looks up: where did you go? The timer is not reset.
- T4
Turn 4 · The next decision
She flips the phone over and decides to finish the round.
How it plays
Players pick modes such as focus, exercise, meals or meditation and start a timer. The character stays on screen and speaks or changes state at each stage. Time is logged and rewarded at the end. The game enters the player's routine, and his encouragement sustains effort better than a progress bar.
What the player weighs
- Verify with real sensor data, or trust the player and avoid permission prompts.
- Reward in-game resources, or give only emotional response so it never feels like grinding.
02Start small
Scope is an editorial estimate for the minimum prototype, not the reference game or a production schedule.
03One mechanic, different implementations

Light and Night
A video-companion feature offers five modes: focus, exercise, meditation, meals, and simply keeping you company.

Love and Deepspace
He can work out with you, offering reminders and encouragement, while his breathing, flush and sweat change with the session length.
The difference worth noticing
Light and Night covers more life scenarios; Love and Deepspace emphasizes his state changing with exercise duration.
Case notes are Yoroll editorial summaries; rules may change between versions.
04What could you combine?
Start a twenty-minute focus session before watching; finishing unlocks today's chapter, as if he has been waiting.
