01The core loop

Action → feedback → next choice
  1. 01Open his feed
  2. 02Read what he posted
  3. 03Like or comment
  4. 04He or others reply

↻Feedback changes the situation — the next round starts from there.

Walk through one round

A simplified design example. Situations and numbers illustrate the mechanic, not exact rules from a reference game.

  1. T1

    Turn 1 · The situation

He posts a photo of two coffees captioned only: fine. A colleague teases him below.

  2. T2

Turn 2 · The player chooses

The player comments: whose is the second cup?

  3. T3

    Turn 3 · The feedback

He replies: did you not drink it? The colleague piles on with exclamation marks.

  4. T4

Turn 4 · The next decision

The player starts checking the feed daily for new clues about him.

How it plays

Characters run their own feeds with daily posts, photos and banter. Players can like posts or pick a comment, and others reply in turn. It does not advance the plot, yet it reveals off-screen life and the relationships between characters; the comment thread is itself a tiny drama.

What the player weighs

  • Show banter among characters, or keep the space private between you and him.
  • Update with story progress for consistency, or with real holidays for a sense of now.

03One mechanic, different implementations

Love and Deepspace

Love and Deepspace

P1

The phone has a Moments feed where he posts; you can like posts and pick preset comments, and he replies.

Light and Night

Light and Night

P2

He posts to a Moments feed, and a separate anonymous board lets players post and vent themselves.

The difference worth noticing

Both put the feed inside the phone; Light and Night also gives players an anonymous posting board, which deepens participation.

Case notes are Yoroll editorial summaries; rules may change between versions.
