No.197Deep Rock Galactic01The core loop
Action → feedback → next choice- 01Open fire
- 02Spread widens
- 03Release briefly
- 04Recover, then fire
↻Feedback changes the situation — the next round starts from there.
Walk through one round
A simplified design example. Situations and numbers illustrate the mechanic, not exact rules from a reference game.
- T1
Turn 1 · The situation
Rifle spread starts at 1°, +0.5° per shot, and resets after 0.3 s idle; target is 30 m away.
- T2
Turn 2 · The player chooses
You switch to 3-round bursts with 0.3 s pauses.
- T3
Turn 3 · The feedback
Hit rate climbs from about 40% to 80%, landing steadily on the weak spot.
- T4
Turn 4 · The next decision
A swarm rushes in close, where holding the trigger works better.
How it plays
Each shot widens spread, which recovers at a set rate when you stop. The crosshair size shows current spread live. You learn to burst-fire instead of holding, balancing suppression and accuracy.
What the player weighs
- Holding fire suppresses but misses at range
- Bursts are accurate but lower sustained output
02Start small

03One mechanic, different implementations

Deep Rock Galactic
Many weapons list base spread, spread per shot and spread recovery, and mods or overclocks tweak those values.

SYNTHETIK: Legion Rising
Sustained fire degrades accuracy, alongside recoil and jam systems that reward controlled rhythm (details hedged).
The difference worth noticing
Deep Rock exposes spread as moddable stats; SYNTHETIK layers it with risk systems like jams.
Case notes are Yoroll editorial summaries; rules may change between versions.
04What could you combine?
With enemy intent previews, players pause to tighten spread during the wind-up, then land a precise shot on the opening.
