No.289Light and Night01The core loop
Action → feedback → next choice- 01Care and play
- 02Raise trust
- 03Unlock stories and outfits
- 04Collect growth cards
↻Feedback changes the situation — the next round starts from there.
Walk through one round
A simplified design example. Situations and numbers illustrate the mechanic, not exact rules from a reference game.
- T1
Turn 1 · The situation
This week's task asks for three hide-and-seek rounds, and trust is just short of the next level.
- T2
Turn 2 · The player chooses
She plays three rounds and dresses it in a new outfit.
- T3
Turn 3 · The feedback
Trust rises and unlocks a short story featuring him too.
- T4
Turn 4 · The next decision
She begins looking forward to next week's task and outfit.
How it plays
A separate nurture branch offers a small companion. Mini-games like hide-and-seek and digging plus weekly tasks raise trust, unlocking stories, outfits and a booklet. It stays apart from combat power, so players who dislike grinding still have something to invest in.
What the player weighs
- Sell a separate banner and pass, or keep nurture free so it does not feel monetized everywhere.
- Bring it into the main story, or keep it a side branch that leaves romance undisturbed.
02Start small
Scope is an editorial estimate for the minimum prototype, not the reference game or a production schedule.
03One mechanic, different implementations

Light and Night
A dedicated mode lets you raise a chibi version of him, building trust through hide-and-seek and treasure hunts and filling a card album.

Light and Night
The same system adds weekly plans, a paid pass and its own card draw, forming a separate monetization line.
The difference worth noticing
So far only Light and Night builds the full structure; the two cases look at its play and its monetization.
Case notes are Yoroll editorial summaries; rules may change between versions.
04What could you combine?
In an interactive film, the little one warms only to players who keep choosing kindness, making it a mirror of your recent decisions.
